Not everyone realizes whether there is Confidential STD Testing, or just how prevalent STDs are in NYC. The CDC has stated that one in two people will have an STD at some point in their life. However, that does not mean that it does not cause some embarrassment. When you come to our office, you can be sure that your test will remain anonymous and confidential.
No Appointment Necessary
We understand that getting tested for an STD needs to be done in a timely manner to be the most effective. You do not need to make an appointment to have the testing done. Come in as soon as you are showing any signs or symptoms of the disease and we will do the test within minutes. If you are not experiencing any symptoms, but just want to be sure, you can be tested too.
On-Site Phlebotomy
Once you walk through the doors of our facility, you will be taken to a room for the samples to be taken. This could be blood, urine, or tissue sample. All samples will be taken right in our office, on the day you come in for testing.
Confidential STD Testing
Anonymity
Every sample we take is given a code number. Your name is not put on the sample itself. Your medical records will have the code used for your samples, and they remain in our office. No matter where your sample is sent, no one is going to know it is yours. Once the results come back to our office, you will be contacted.
Confidentiality
If your results come back positive, it is important that you contact your previous sexual partners and let them know they need to be tested. We are here to help you with that too. It can be done in a manner where we contact them and keep your name out of it, you can personally tell them, or you can bring them into our office and we will make the announcement together. We believe that every person has the right to keep this information private, but we also need to be sure that all people involved are tested.
Having an STD is nothing to be ashamed of, or embarrassed about. The important thing is to be tested and treated to keep it from spreading further. You can trust everyone in our office to use the greatest discretion with your medical information. No matter which disease you have, you will be treated with respect. If it is something our office cannot treat alone, you will be referred to someone who will be able to help you while still maintaining your confidentiality.
