If you have been having unprotected sex with several partners and are worried you might have an STD, you want to be able to get tested and have the results as soon as possible. Going to a doctor who cannot draw blood on-site means you will need a referral to a diagnostic center. While you may be able to go in a day or two, that is just not good enough.
Get Tested the 1st Day You Notice Symptoms
Many people do not realize that going to a doctor’s office, or quick care facility is not going to get you tested. The doctor will see you, give you a routine physical, and then give you papers to go to a lab to have your lab work done. These labs are busy, and it may take up to a week for you to be tested. When you come to our facility, you do not need an appointment at all. Drop in during your lunch hour, and we will take any samples we need for the test. You will be back at work before your break is over.
Get the Results Faster with Rapid STD Testing
We draw the blood and get it to the lab that same day unless you came in as we were closing. You will have the results back by the next day. If you test positive, we can start treatment so the disease does not progress. We will also help you notify your sex partners so they can come in to be tested too. The sooner everyone is treated, the fewer people will become infected.
Respect and Confidentiality
When you come to us for your STD testing, you can be sure that you will be treated with respect, and your medical information will remain confidential. When we need to send out any samples to a different lab for testing, it goes anonymously. Everything gets a number or code that only we can attach to your medical files. The lab has no idea who the sample is from.
Regular STD Testing
Since coming in to get tested is no big deal, you can do it whenever you think you are having symptoms if one of your partners tells you they are infected, or any time you think it might be a good idea. If you get tested every year at the same time as your physical, you should come in for STD testing about six months later whether you are having symptoms or not. Some diseases have very mild symptoms. Some diseases have symptoms that hide for a while. However, you are still contagious and can be passing the disease around during this time.
